Sustainable Practices for Tenants


At our properties, we prioritize resident engagement to create a vibrant sense of community while empowering our tenants with essential life skills to effectively manage utility costs. Engagement goes beyond mere participation; it delves into the core values, motivations, and visions of individuals and communities. Through meaningful engagement, we aim to enhance the overall living experience and contribute to the well-being of everyone involved.

Environmental Stewardship


BlueStone actively engages with the local community through its participation in Green Economy London’s Environmental Stewardship initiative. Through sponsorships like LOLA Beehive and partnerships with ReForest London for tree planting and giveaways, alongside initiatives such as eliminating plastic bottle use, E-waste and battery recycling, organics recycling, green cleaning, and community litter cleanups, we have achieved our Environmental Stewardship Platinum target two years ahead of schedule. Looking ahead, we are committed to undertaking an additional 10 projects over the next three years to further enhance our environmental impact.

Vision

At BlueStone Properties, we are committed to building a better London. We recognize that our business operations, including real estate development, construction, and property management, have direct and indirect impacts on the environment and the people we serve.

Our company holds a responsibility to minimize these impacts by adopting environmentally conscious practices and policies that drive sustainable real estate.

Responsibilities

This policy applies to all BlueStone employees. The policy is available to customers, suppliers, business partners, contractors, and the public.

The President of BlueStone Properties Inc. will review the policy annually to ensure it continues to reflect BlueStone's vision and values.

We took significant strides towards fulfilling our vision by implementing a company-wide Environmental Policy. This policy underscores our commitment to adhering to all environmental laws, regulations, and requirements governing our operations, thereby safeguarding the environment. We are dedicated to using resources wisely, reducing water and energy consumption, minimizing our carbon footprint, and increasing waste diversion to protect the planet.

Electricity and Gas and Conservation


Our multiple green project initiatives collectively reflect our unwavering dedication to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility at BlueStone. From boiler replacements to LED lighting retrofits, roof replacements and building automation system upgrades, we focus on optimizing energy usage, reducing utility consumption and improving the occupant experience.

Waste Management


At BlueStone, we are dedicated to reducing waste generation and enhancing our waste management practices. Through strategic partnerships with waste management companies, we optimize our collection and recycling services. We continuously measure our progress with regular waste audits and actively seek new initiatives to improve waste management across all our properties.

Water Conservation


As a leader in the industry, BlueStone holds itself to a higher standard and consistently strives for innovation. Our commitment to excellence is exemplified in our latest project, the construction of a new apartment building at 101 Base Line Rd West. This development stands out as a pioneering initiative in London, as it will be the first of its kind to implement individual water submeters for each unit. This forward-thinking approach not only aligns with our dedication to sustainability but also offers tenants a more precise and equitable way of monitoring and managing their water consumption. Through in-depth assessments over the years, we have committed to reducing our water consumption by installing water-saving fixtures, such as low-flow toilets, showerheads, and aerated faucets, significantly curbing water usage.
